were an all women acoustic-rock band based in Melbourne.
We played together for about five years, and most of our songs were
originals.
We performed at the
Port Fairy Folk Festival,
Darebin Music Festival,
the Daylesford Women's Ball
and at the Midsumma Festival's Street Party, Carnival Day, Pride March
and Satin and Silk Ball.
At first, Gail and Deb started singing their own songs together. Gail
had played solo and Deb had been in groups before. They then met up with
Kit, Megan and Jean. This lineup originally played at the Victoria Hotel
- a women's pub at the time in Brunswick. We also played at some other
pubs around town.
We recorded a song on the Girlzone 2 compilation of original women musicians
in Melbourne. The song we recorded was "Moments in Time" written
by Gail.
At the end of 1996 Jean went overseas for 10 months. During 1997 Kit
left and Penny joined,. When Jean returned, we recorded a self titled
demo CD at the end of '97, releasing it in '98. In 1999 - Penny left,
and we played on for a while as a 4 piece band.
Our last gig was at the 2000 Dandenong Ranges Folk Festival
on Sunday 13th February at 1pm in the Coopers Tent.
